CPS Frog Pond Projects - Year 4
This activity was part of our Biological Science and Design Technology curriculums. The children had to use their knowledge of what a frog needs to survive and the life cycle of a frog in order to think about what needed to be included in their designs.
They worked in pairs and followed the Design process to imagine, plan and create a habitat that has everything a frog needs. They used their oral language skills to voice their ideas and opinions with their partner and also their cooperative learning skills to organise and designate roles to allow them to join together to make one design.
As the children were creating their habitats, they needed to reflect on whether they needed to make changes to their plans if something didn’t work well and then come up with new ideas to improve their designs. As you can see there is a lot to be gained from working together.
