Cross Country 2023

What a fantastic day we had for the CPS Cross Country on Wednesday 17 May. The sun was shining and the CPS students that competed showed ‘The Churchlands Way’ RESILIENCE, RESPECT, ENGAGE & EXCEL. Thank you to everyone who helped with the organisation and running of the event including Mr. Johnson for his organisation of the music with the music team, the sports captains, and our year 6 students for their various duties throughout the day. The STEAM Team was wonderful with their fantastic photography throughout the day, and thanks to the staff of CPS who worked together to make things run smoothly.   A massive thank you to the wider CPS community for their continued support of everything at CPS.

If you believe your child should have received a note but they have not, can you please contact Mr. Marshall at Michael.marshall@education.wa.edu.au . All the other relevant information for this event will be sent out via Audiri (previously SkoolBag).

Running Club

Running club has started off with a bang, with a total of 492km run so far in Term 1.  It is fantastic to see so many kids out, getting their bodies moving early in the morning before a full day of learning.  Just a reminder of our new start time of 8:10 am and running through until 8:40 am.  With the Churchlands PS Cross Country around the corner, running club is a great time to get yourself ready for the day.

For new families to Churchlands PS, running club is where students run laps around the oval earning points for their faction. Exercising in the mornings has many health benefits and is a great way to start the day.

Some benefits include:

  • improved physical and mental energy,
  • a better night’s sleep,
  • help maintain a healthy weight
  • reach your fitness goals,
  • enhance your metabolism.

This is a reminder that mugs for Milo need to be placed on the table outside the undercover area before 8.25 am.  Milo is an acknowledgement of the effort put in during running club.

It is encouraged that students need to run at least 5 laps to get a Milo. Turning up late won’t allow enough time to get 5 laps done.

Can you please click on the link and fill in the attached form so Mr. Marshall can organise your QR code card before your first running club. Kids of all ages are welcome to join in the fun, that is running club.  Remember to bring your QR code to every running club.
