The Music Review – Week 7

Symphony Orchestra excursion

Yesterday both school orchestras travelled to the Perth Concert Hall to see WASO in rehearsal with their conductor ASHER FISCH preparing BRUCKNER’s 3rd Symphony for a Friday night performance. Although it was a wet start, the excursion was a success and a great experience for all the students.

CHUMT Show 2022

The annual Churchlands Music Talent Show semi-final for Juniors will be held next Friday 17 June at lunchtime in the undercover area. All students are welcome to attend. Bring your lunch and sit quietly to see the juniors perform. Please only move in or out of the area between acts.

Pictured are some year ones in an up and coming singing act at their audition.

Waltzing Matilda whole school song

The Music team performed as a folk band last Friday for WA Day, accompanying the whole school singing Waltzing Matilda. Some of the instruments played by the band were learned for the first time by the team for the song! Congratulations all.

On electric guitars at the far left, we have Bruce and Bruce. In front of them is Bruce on the accordion and, of course on the drum kit- Bruce with Bruce playing bass guitar on the right.

In the next photo, you can see senior Bruce on Mandolin and Bruce playing the tin whistle with special guest junior Bruce at the front playing the lagerphone.

Musica Viva concert

Musica Viva sent two amazing musos to perform; we were taken on a journey through the wilderness, hearing bird calls and the sounds in the bush.

Please see pictures from the recent Walking with the Wilderness concert at our school.
