Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Containers for Change Drive – Weeks 7 & 8
We are excited to announce that our school will be holding a Containers for Change Drive in Weeks 7 and 8 to raise funds for our Sustainability Project. The money raised will go towards upgrading our Sustainability Shed, including improvements to our chicken coop.
This is a wonderful opportunity for students to get involved in recycling, learn about sustainability, and work together towards a common goal — while having some friendly competition between classes!
How it Works
- Weeks 5 & 6: We will be promoting the drive through posters, Seesaw announcements, the school newsletter, and class presentations.
- Weeks 7 & 8: Students bring in their clean, eligible containers.
What to Do:
- Collect your eligible 10c refund containers from home.
- Place them in a bag clearly labelled with your child’s name and the number of containers inside.
- Your child gives the bag to their classroom teacher, who will record the contribution.
- Containers will be collected each day by the Sustainability Team.
Eligible containers include most aluminium, glass, plastic, steel, and liquid paperboard drink containers between 150ml and 3L. Containers must be clean and empty (no straws or lids).
The Prize
At the end of Week 8, the class with the highest number of containers will win a special prize and be announced at assembly.
We look forward to seeing how many containers we can collect together and the positive impact we can make for our environment and our school. Thank you for your ongoing support in helping our students learn the value of sustainability.
Kind regards,
The Sustainability Team
