Interschool Winter Sports – Churchlands Primary vs Floreat Park Primary School and West Leederville Primary School
Churchlands Primary students proudly represented the school in our interschool winter sports competitions against Floreat Park Primary School and West Leederville Primary School over the past few weeks. They were fantastic afternoons, with all teams displaying excellent spirit, teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the matches.
Our soccer team achieved two impressive wins after strong team performances and plenty of determination on the field. There were some excellent passing and teamwork, with Roscoe and Dante both showing outstanding footwork and control of the ball. Churchlands Primary won both matches 5–0.
The Netball A team also played an outstanding match, defeating Floreat Park 18–11. A special mention to Chiara for her impressive attack on the ball, and to captains Alyssa (A Team) and Evie (B Team) for their strong leadership and encouragement of teammates. Thank you also to Kayla and Mathilde for their excellent assistance with coaching and support throughout the afternoons. The team also played a great game against West Leederville Primary School and, despite not coming away with the win, showed tremendous effort and teamwork.
Netball B and the AFL teams competed with enthusiasm and resilience against both West Leederville and Floreat Park. Casper, Mikey and James were standouts in the football, not only for their excellent play but also for the leadership and sportsmanship they displayed throughout the games. Jordan also played a terrific game for Netball B and demonstrated how basketball skills can transfer successfully to netball.
Congratulations to all students involved for the positive way they represented Churchlands Primary. Their encouragement, effort and respect for opponents made the afternoons a great success. It has been fantastic to see students so dedicated, regularly practising together during recess and lunch.
