A huge congratulations to our Term 3 & 4 participants of the CoderDojo program. Our teams worked tirelessly and enthusiastically as they designed, constructed and coded their robots ready for the main battle challenge!
It has been extremely enjoyable joining these students every Wednesday afterschool and I really hope they are very proud as to what they have learnt and demosntrated over such a short period of time. They are now very well placed to continue this learning and stretch themeselves even further next year in the Senior Coder Dojo program – which I strongly encourage them to do when the time comes.
Over the training sessions, students have designed and programmed their machines to compete in the cutthroat battle of robot Sumo Wrestling. This competition pits robots against each other within the ‘Hexigon of death’ where they search, track and ram each other out of the ring for a win!
It was a highly exicting contest on the day, with much mayhem and destruction of our loved robots as they were ground down by each other in pursuit of victory! In the end, with a bit of luck, Elias and Evelyn took out the final with ‘The All Seeing Eye’ taking a very narrow victory over Elsa’s ‘Ducky’.
