Today all 47 members of HOTNOTES Orchestra were deep in the second rehearsal learning their first piece Iko Iko and indeed learning how to listen to each other as an orchestra and how to set up and pack up!
VOICE had their first session yesterday and have commenced learning their ANZAC song, I Still Call Australia Home, in preparation for our ceremony week 1 term 2.
Churchlands PS String Orchestra also welcomed new members on Wednesday morning with Mr Read directing.
In more exciting news the Music Team had their first foray into the delights of improvisation and winging it as Mr Howesmith challenged them to perform a Chinese New Year Dragon Dance – wǔ lóng (舞龙), around the school to cleanse evil spirits out and welcome in the Lunar New Year!
Finally Swimming lessons have finished, so now the IMSS timetable should become much more stable and all 76 students learning though the IMSS program will settle down to their due diligence and get their full lessons in each week. Please see Mr H’s music room door to confirm your timetable if you are unsure.
