The library has truly become a vibrant hub of activity over the past few weeks, with our dedicated library officers not only settling into their new roles but also wholeheartedly embracing their responsibilities. Their enthusiasm and commitment have been evident, contributing to an energized atmosphere as they work to enhance the library experience for everyone to enjoy.
Anzac Day – Remembering the Heroes
This year, we’ll be commemorating Anzac Day in the library. It’s a time to reflect on the bravery and sacrifices made by soldiers in wars past. We will have a special display featuring books about Anzac Day, Australia’s military history, and the stories of courage and sacrifice.
Premier’s Reading Challenge
The Premier’s Reading Challenge encourages students to discover the joy of reading, improve their literacy skills and enjoy amazing stories.
The challenge runs for 12 weeks from 7 April to 27 June 2025. To complete the challenge:
Kindergarten to Year 10 students read 12 or more books
Year 11 and 12 students read 6 or more books.
Reading isn’t just about books. Students can also log:
- short stories
- graphic novels
- eBooks
- talking books
- poetry
- audiobooks
- literary-based podcasts.
There’s something to read at any age or reading level. Students who log their reading achievements each week have the chance to win exciting prizes! These weekly rewards recognise their dedication to the challenge, motivating them to enhance their reading skills while fostering a lifelong love of reading.
At the end of the challenge, students receive a certificate signed by the Premier, celebrating and rewarding their amazing efforts.
