Before and After School ActivitiesÂ
During the school term, there will be activities happening most days of the week to keep your children active before and after school. Over the next few weeks, you will see flyers promoting various activities, if you are interested, please contact those organisations directly. You can also find this information on the school website. Running club will be starting back up Wednesday mornings starting at 8.10am from week 4.
Running ClubÂ
Running club is on Wednesday mornings starting at 8.10 am – 8.40 am from week 4 (Wednesday 24 February).  For new families to Churchlands PS, Running Club is where students run laps around the school earning points for their faction. Exercising in the mornings has many health benefits and is a great way to start the day.Â
Some benefits include:Â
- improved physical and mental energy, Â
- a better night’s sleep, Â
- reach your fitness goals,Â
- increased focus and concentration.  Â
A reminder that mugs for Milo need to be placed on the table outside the undercover area before 8.25 am.  Milo is an acknowledgement of the effort put in during running club. Â
It is encouraged that students need to run at least 5 laps to get a Milo. Turning up late won’t allow enough time to get 5 laps done.   Â

Churchlands PS Swimming Carnival – Friday, 20 MarchÂ
The Churchlands PS Swimming Carnival is set for Friday, 20 March at Churchlands Senior High School! This fantastic event involves all Year 3 – 6 students, with each student competing in at least two races. More details about the races will be shared closer to the date.Â
All Year 3 – 6 students will have just completed their swimming lessons, and the results will help shape the carnival. As students swimming ability will determine which event they will participate in, with safety as our top priority. To compete in stroke events, students must have passed Level 5, which requires them to swim 25m confidently. If your child is in Level 5 or below, but you believe there are capable please reach out to Mrs Little at Erica.Langenberg@education.wa.edu.au.Â
Students in Level 5 and below will still have an awesome time participating in fun novelty events, such as the kickboard and noodle relays. As this is the first swimming carnival for many of our students, we want to ensure they feel comfortable and have a great experience.Â
This event wouldn’t be possible without the incredible support of our Churchlands  community. If you’re available to help on the day, please contact Mrs Little at Erica.Langenberg@education.wa.edu.au. Â
We can’t wait for a day of fun, teamwork and friendly competition in the pool. Â
