On Friday of Week 3, our Student Councillors had the exciting opportunity to join hundreds of student leaders from schools across the region at the GRIP Student Leadership Conference held at the Convention and Exhibition Centre. This year’s theme was, Accept the Challenge.
Throughout the day, the highly engaging presenters encouraged students to reflect on what effect leadership looks like in action. The session explored the importance of confidence, leading with purpose, presenting new ideas and understanding the challenges leaders may face when introducing those ideas. Students were kept actively involved, particularly when they were invited as volunteers to the stage to participate in mini games, role plays, and interactive challenges. These moments not only created lots of laughter and excitement but also reinforced important leadership messages around being confident, working as a team, and stepping outside comfort zones.
Our councillors at CPS represented the school with enthusiasm and maturity, embracing every opportunity to learn and contribute. Each student walked away with valuable strategies and inspiration. One of the highlights were the many opportunities for students to connect with peers from other schools to exchange ideas, gain insight into different leadership initiatives while also collecting practical ideas they can adapt and introduce within our own school.
We are proud to see them dare to challenge themselves as developing leaders.
