The CHUMT Show REVIEW
Congratulations to all 130 talent show auditioners, well done to the 50 semi-finalists across junior, middle and senior primary and, of course, Hoorah to our finalists who performed at the Grand Finale on the last day of last term.
In the junior section, there was a big 3rd place tie between the duet Changfei & Ella from room 4, Emily on violin in room 2 and Aura singing You Are My Sunshine in room 1. Second place was awarded to Ivy from room 4 playing piano and the winner this year was Abigail, room 5, singing Monsters!
Middle primary had a trio of boys singing Steve’s Lava Chicken, which came highly commended from the judges, well done Charlie, Luke and Dylan! In third place was Madeline singing House of Memories from room 4, Isla took second place performing on the Guzhang and also won 1st place in a duet with Evelyn from room 7 singing A Thousand Years.
Seniors; 3rd place was a jazzy rendition of Lava Chicken by Adam, room 9, Mathilde drew 2nd singing Sparks Fly with Daisy singing Die with a Smile and the overall winner this year was Catherine Cui singing and also performing Dance Monkey on Sax.
IT SOUNDED SWEET!
Imagination Exploration
As part of the whole school music program we are hosting an excellent music ensemble through the National Musica Viva in Schools program. Imagination Exploration will be performed at two concerts by I Hold The Lion’s Paw Musica Viva touring group in the undercover area on Tuesday 29 July.
Year 4, 5 and 6 children will see the concert at 11.05 – 12.05; Pre Primary 1, 2 and 3 will attend at 12.05pm – 1.05pm.
I Hold the Lion’s Paw are a jazz four-piece improvisation ensemble who play everything from keyboards to guitars to trumpets and flutes. “It’s all about the joy of making things up as you go along.”
VOICE at Crown Theatre
VOICE Senior Choir had a most bodacious performance at Crown back in week 9 and blew most of the crowd away with their quality of sound! Congratulations also to our soloist Stephanie Zhou performing on piano.
