The first week at school of 2026 has been such delight. I have been welcomed with joy and enthusiasm by new and old students returning to our vibrant school. Everyone can feel the excitement, some nervousness, but generally a wonderful apprehension to get started on a new year.
Welcome to the 2026 Art Sparks, Jacqueline Chow, Yachen Lin, Taha Jatoi, Chelsea Baker, Jenny Wang and Ethan Wang.
Thank you for sending an old shirt to protect our young artist’s uniforms. These shirts are only worn in art time and usually don’t get too messy however it is a symbol of respect to our uniform, ourselves, and the school that the students use an art shirt.
This term all class will be looking at 3D art, artists and building form using a variety of materials.
The year three students are attending the Annual Sculpture by the Sea exhibition that starts March 6, at Cottesloe Beach. I encourage all families take the opportunity to explore this fantastic free exhibition.
The year four students will engage in REmida workshops with an artist facilitator. At REmida, they don’t use glue and they don’t use sticky tape! Here is the challenge! It is primarily about the “experience” of using reuse materials and part of the creative challenge is finding ways to join these materials together. Amazing new ideas are explored during the workshop.
