Sculpture on the Outside 2025
Wow! Just wow. I still can’t believe yesterday actually happened. Exhausted doesn’t even begin to cover it- but my heart is full.
So proud of the class work and how the students installed their work around the school grounds. I couldn’t have pulled it together without the incredible support of our community, all the Churchland staff, families and especially the students.
The winner of the People’s choice award was the astounding Log Monster, a sculpture of wood and found items by Dylan Corke. The second-place winners were Adam and Rosie Harris with Orbit and third place went to Mitch O Mara with his sculpture, Diary of a Wimpy Kid.
ReMida Incursion with year four
The year four students worked with Stephanie De Biasi, an accomplished sculptural artist who has exhibited in the Sculpture by the Sea exhibitions at Cottesloe in 2022 and 2024, making incredible mini monster/bug characters with the challenge of not using glue or tape to join pieces. It was a very engaging and challenging session.
Jarni McGuire from Jarnicreative
Next week we welcome Jarni McGuire, a mural artist funded by a grant from PALS (Partnership Acceptance Learning Sharing) to our school community as she shares culture and connection to country while she paints our mural on the Arts block wall. It is going to be awesome. I am so excited to be working with this talented Noongar artist.
