Art from the Heart – Ken Robinson defines creativity as, “The process of having original ideas that have value.”
Over the last fortnight the artists from every class have drawn and embellished a heart shape with an inspired word of positive mindset and aspiration. These are displayed across the back wall and windows of the art room. It has been a joyful and inspired start to the new art school year tying it neatly with our PBS Values. Sculpture by the Sea
It is so exciting that Sculpture by the Sea is once more exhibiting at Cottesloe beach from 6-23 March 2026. Please get there to enjoy this world class exhibition. The Year three students are going on an excursion on the opening day, Friday 6 March with Mrs Etherington and Mrs Cockerill.
All my classes are looking at Sculpture in art class, in readiness for our own 2026 art show, Sculpture by the School on Tuesday 24 March. As well as working on class displays of innovative sculptures, our young artists are invited to build their own sculpture, with family and/or friends at home, to bring in, the day of Sculpture by the School.
We will be looking at the importance of Form and Space when creating art.

The 2026 Art Sparkz gave Ye Old Raffle Boxes a face lift today so we can start the weekly 2026 Art Raffle. Notice the vibrant hearts across the back of the Studio.
These Art works from our Room 12 artists were created using imagination and creativity to celebrate the 2026 Lunar New Year of the Fire Horse. These horses show the energy, vitality, speed and passion. The year of the horse will be a year for success.
