Food Webs and Life Cycles of Herdsman Lake

The Year 4 students undertook a deeper exploration of the wildlife and habitat found at Herdsman Lake in the hope of understanding and reproducing conditions to have a thriving ecosystem at the CPS Frog Pond. Their Biological Science and Design Technology learning included classification, food chains and webs, life cycles, species reliance and how the local Nyoongar people relied on and looked after the local wetland environment.

To showcase the vast amount of information researched, students applied the Design Process to explore these areas of learning and present the information in a highly engaging and interactive way.

Students collaborated in groups to plan, design and create immersive digital environments using the CoSpaces platform, where other students and community members could interact to discover the information.
